The picture on the top of this website is of Dirk Willems, an Anabaptist from Holland, who in 1569 was fleeing for his life when his pursuer broke through the ice on the river they were crossing. Dirk turned around and pulled his pursurer from the ice, saving his life. Dirk was then captured and eventually burned at the stake for his beliefs and activities as an Anabaptist. Anabaptists today, Ken included, find the story a powerful symbol of the life and love of Christ in the world. Read more about Dirk Willems here and here.
