Dear brother, I have just read for the first time about Lisa Miller and how your life has come under pressure. Human "justice" wants to state an example by putting God's servant in jail. And God might want to state an example by letting his just servant go to jail to be a radiant, incontestable testimony of Christ there and over media, at a greater scale than ever before. May the Lord strengthen you and your family in these days, to experience even more of Him, to get even closer, to have God-given words and reactions in every situation. "Jesus answered: “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

Hi Brother Ken,
We are so sorry to learn that the future appears to include time spent in prison. But your positive attitude in this situation is extremely encouraging. We believe that Romans 8:28-29 will continue to be true of your life in the days ahead. Here at Bethel Mennonite we will continue to pray for you and for your family.

You have been in my prayers for years and will continue to be. May Our Lord give you and your family strength of faith, peace in suffering.

I can only wonder how closely the gov't is watching all of us who comment here or contact Ken. The reason is that on Dec. 14th I wrote to info at millercase dot org and asked about the appellate decision. I received a reply the same day from Darrell Hershberger who wrote to me in an email: "we are still waiting". So on the 16th, two days later, he is no longer waiting, he gets the news, according the post on your update page. Anyway, I certainly appreciate the spiritual viewpoints expressed here, there is no sense of retaliation or hatred by Ken or anyone, as it ought to be for followers of Jesus. Likewise, we ought to pray for those in gov't, who no doubt honestly feel they are simply doing their job when prosecuting someone such as Ken, or those who are selling raw milk, or medicinal products, or driving buggies without the orange triangle safety device, etc. So much prosecution of those who simply wish to serve the Creator of Heaven and Earth, maybe it is time to seek a different land where religious freedom may be lived out? If you know of such, please contact me. Till them Gott selig dich als.

Greetings, Brother Ken & Family,
I don't know you personally but some of my brothers have met various ones of your family and I've followed this closely over the last several years. May the Lord continue to sustain you and hold you in the palm of His hand as He leads you ever onward and upward. I was blessed by what Ken wrote about trials. May God find each of us to be soft clay in His hands that He might conform us more into His likeness by the things He allows in each of our lives! Satan desires to destroy us, but trials are allowed by God to make us - make us more like Him so the we might bring Him glory and honor! Keep your eyes on Jesus! He always faithful will remain!
God bless you!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stand strong to the end!

I read this verse the same day I learned of your sentencing:
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

Brother Ken and family, we will continually lift you up to our Great King who's Kingdom has come--which Kingdom we present to the world. Your testimony has been strengthening to us. We bow our will, together with you, to the will of our dear Father. And through this bowing, we trust God will do His great work behind the scenes of redeeming mankind back to Himself. God bless you richly!

To the Rainbow Alliance, and maybe others who do not agree with Ken, we want you to know Peace. And we are jealous for your happiness.
I don't know Ken, but if he follows Christ's teaching, I have confidence he would rather have you in a frame of mind to receive Truth while he is in prison, than for him to be a free man, and his perceived legacy to stand between you and true peace.
To Ken, God bless you. There are eternal, unchanging Laws, and there are temporary laws.
God made the one.
Man makes the other.
Thank you for honoring the First law.
We can see from history, and from the Bible, the greater good results when Mans law follows Gods' law.
Right now in USA and beyond, man seems to be in a hurry to prove he is a poor Master of his own fate.
We do not "judge" others; we all take our turns revealing our incapability to judge ourselves.
If there is anything we distant members can do for you or your dissenters, we will be glad to pitch in and help.
To the Family, we have no words but an understanding of the Everlasting Arms!

Hi we just got the message of your sentence.
Keep your courage up, all of you! As a girl, my Daddy was gone on church work a lot, and I can only imagine the struggles the children will have. Esp. if Dad can't be at daughter's wedding...
But while weeping may endure for a night, joy cometh in the morning!

Dear Brother Ken,
Our thoughts and prayers have been much toward you and your family in the past few weeks, that God would give you grace and wisdom in the decisions and trials you face. While it is not entirely possible to fully identify with every question you may face, we respect your choices trusting that God will be glorified as you commit yourself to Him. As we acknowledge Him, He directs our path. So many unknowns lie before us, but knowing our God in those unknowns is Life Eternal.
I was impressed recently again from Ps. 34 and Ps. 37- how that those who call on the Lord will face many distressing situations in life, but will be brought through those situations experiencing God's unfailing faithfulness.
Jesus Christ is indeed in every situation the all-sufficient one who is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. We need but abide in Him. I just want to encourage you to rest in the Love which naught can separate us from as you take each step into the future.
Sincerely,
Loyal Martin

God Is a Safe Refuge in Trial
A life without trials, affliction, and hardships would be a life of shallow nothingness, and what many people may term as a life of ease.
There are many great masterpieces that have been made by various people, but in every case, whatever was being formed or created had to go through extensive pain, chiselling, cutting, and/or fire to come to perfection and usefulness.
Jesus promised that to follow Him would not be an easy road, but rather a very difficult one. He told us we would have persecution, sorrow, rejection, false accusations, betrayal, and many other things that would not be pleasant according to the flesh. In light of all the potential suffering His children may experience, He also assures them of His presence, love, and grace to accompany them in every situation. He offered Himself as a resting place for all who carry heavy loads and grim experiences. The safe resting place Christ has provided for us is at His bosom of love where we can always resort to no matter what we may be going through. He has suffered all these things before us so therefore is equipped to walk through it as a knowledgeable guide.
The trials and hurts God allows in our experiences are essential ingredients that He uses to build Christ-like character within us. It is up to each individual to give Him the green light to unrestricted access in their lives so He can work His perfect work through these hardships.
Pain and trials need not be viewed with fear and abhorrence, but rather as being much more precious than gold in the fire, being purified. Jesus also suffered for us, leaving an example that we should follow His steps.
A life without trials, pain, and afflictions is one that has not been subjected to very much shaping and preparation for usable service. When we are worn and in suffering, that is when the strength of God becomes evident and shines through with nothing of our human nature to restrict it.

1Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, 1Tim 1:2 To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 1Tim 1:3 As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, 1Tim 1:4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. 1Tim 1:5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1Tim 1:6 Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, 1Tim 1:7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions. 1Tim 1:8 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 1Tim 1:9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 1Tim 1:10 the ***ually immoral, men who practice ******uality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, 1Tim 1:11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. 1Tim 1:12 I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, 1Tim 1:13 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, 1Tim 1:14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 1Tim 1:15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1Tim 1:16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. 1Tim 1:17 To the King of the ages, im***l, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1Tim 1:18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 1Tim 1:19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, 1Tim 1:20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Mat 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Mat 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before. Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mat 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Mat 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Mat 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Mat 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Mat 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Mat 24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Mat 24:47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. Mat 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; Mat 24:49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; Mat 24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, Mat 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 14:22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. Mat 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. Mat 14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. Mat 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. Mat 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. Mat 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Mat 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Mat 14:32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Mat 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Your May 7th update says your attorney wants you to "marshal your resources". Doesn't this sound like he, and the gov't, have found a "cash cow" by these prosecutions? Why not drop the attorney and go "pro se", represent yourselves for free in the courtroom?? What a witness your could be to the world by speaking the truth in court and using the system against itself!!

Sure wish you would all realize the way gov't is using you to further the ******ual agenda! That is correct, they want to prove that people can not take children from ******ual couples out of this nation, or they will be prosecuted, as now appears to be happening to Timothy, Philip, Lisa and most like Ken, again. Will you make this your Ebenezer, the line in the sand, where you bring together all of God's people to stand with Ken and the others who will suffer judicial proceedings for years to come if peer pressure does not influence gov't to change their course of action?? Acts chapter 5, vs. 29 appears to apply in this instance. Do as Paul did, and use the judicial system to GOD'S honor and glory, don't let them cost you that money, become a poor person and win!!

How far our culture has degenerated that you should have to undergo prosecution by the legal system to uphold what peoples have adhered to for thousands of years and what Jesus Himself taught about marriage and human ***uality. May the Lord encourage you and grant you relief in the face of these financial pressures and hear your prayers for mercy from unjust persecution.

This is an extremely sad and disturbing case, yet one that has inspired many believers world-wide to increase their zeal and dedication to the Lord in these dark days we find ourselves living in.
I thank the Lord that there are still true Christians like Ken Miller on this earth, Christians who follow their conscience, no matter the cost. I also thank the Lord for brother Bercot and for this website being a light in the darkness.
In regards to the case itself, the one thing that irks me more than anything is that I do not understand how Ken Miller could possibly be charged with a crime, when at the time Lisa and Isabella left the U.S.A. such was legal to do so. Lisa had full custody, a valid passport, etc.
It seems to me that Ken Miller is being charged for a crime that never took place and this bothers me. Such would be like someone purchasing an over the counter medication for pain relief in July that is legal, and then being arrested in December when the medication is declared illegal, despite never buying another dose after the first one in July. Obviously when the individual purchased the medication in July, such a purchase was 100% legal, therefore it would be unthinkable that such an individual would be charged with a crime "in the future" after the medication is banned, if they never made a subsequent post-ban purchase.
When Ken Miller helped Lisa and Isabella relocate, Lisa and Isabella were legally able to do so without restriction. That months later the courts barred them from relocating is beside the point as they had already relocated.
In my mind, this should be the one and only point that the defense focuses on, as one cannot be convicted of a crime that never occurred and when Ken Miller helped Lisa and Isabella relocate, such was absolutely not a crime at that time.
Regardless, whether Ken Miller is innocent of committing a crime or not really does not matter in todays day and age, nor has it ever mattered throughout history. The Biblical Joseph was a charged and convicted rapist, while the apostle Paul, Jesus and various other great heroes of the faith were also charged and convicted of crimes they did not commit.
The one true God of the Bible is interested in our spirit more than our flesh and if brother Ken could lead just one more person to the Lord whilst serving a prison sentence than he could whilst pastoring a congre*** as a free man, it would not surprise me at all if the Lord's will is for brother Ken to be falsely convicted of this "crime".
I simply pray that brother Ken and his family will be filled with the peace that passeth all understanding and endure unto the end and that "God's will be done".

The young mother is correct in her assessment of the situation. Unfortunately she had to leave the United States in order to protect her child from undue influence imposed by the visitations.
The mother of the child is the biological mother.
The court ruling, to even suggest that the former domestic partner could be considered the "mother", shows faulty legal and moral judgement on the part of the presiding judge.
Signs of the times we live in.

May the Father we love and who loves all people continue to hold you and your family up. We commit you to His faithful keeping. He is GOOD! ALL the time! We also commit our friends on the other side to Him-- that they too may some day come to know and accept the love and forgiveness of our same Father!
Thank you for your faithful witness of love and forgiveness that comes from Jesus! God be very near you in all the places He allows you to be led in the next years. For it is His calling for you! Otherwise, He would not allow it! God bless you!

Congratulations! You are the only person I know who will stand up for God and their beliefs! This man-made law is not God's law.....look what they did to Jesus too! You hang in there.....no matter what they do to you! God's law is permanent.....

Brother Ken, Ten years ago I sat under your teaching as we looked at the Old Testament prophets who suffered for faithfully proclaiming God's message to a backslidden nation. Your life continues to be a tremendous inspiration as you live out what you have taught. I am thankful for the hymns that your family & others have sung that speak deeply to the needs of the hour. God bless you richly!

The Lord bless you, brother Ken, for your willingness to be used and suffer for the Lord

Brother Ken, {Psalm 121}I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. {I Samuel 30:6e} ...but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. We are praying that you will be "salt and light" with the help of God, and that He will also bless and preserve your family and loved ones through this time of testing. May God bless you with His joy and peace!
